Develop on WHERE™
Network-based location has finally arrived!
WHERE has been named one of two official distributors of Sprint's new Open Location Platform for network-based location. This technology allows third-party developers to remotely determine the cell tower and GPS location of Sprint handsets without installing any software on the device.
The WHERE Location API is a ground-breaking SaaS platform for accessing carrier network-based location. Delivered through a simple XML interface, it can support any website, WAP, SMS, or mobile application with real-time and accurate location. The system includes a robust location management framework to ensure strict standards for security and privacy.
The WHERE Location API enables:
Location-based search
Provide pinpoint geographical accuracy for yellow page and business searches, without requiring users to report their current location. Works on any device.
Location-based marketing
Deliver geographically-targeted marketing campaigns via SMS, WAP, and IVR/Voice. Prompt consumers to visit the closest retail location, based on GPS accuracy.
Location-based people finding
Locate people who belong to your social network or organization, with opt-in permission and authorization rules.
Location-based content tagging
Tag text messages, photos, or video based on the user's current location.
